Full Description

This book sheds light on creations designed between 1930 and 1964 by the "Verrerie artistique" of Saint-Prex. The works can be found in Swiss public collections today. Founded on an analysis of only recently accessible sources, interviews with former employees or their descendants, and an examination of the works' technical, stylistic, and formal aspects, it presents the first detailed chronology of production. It reveals the reception of international glass art as well as the flourishing contemporary Swiss ceramics in Saint-Prex. The importance of this glassworks in the Canton of Vaud within the context of Swiss glass art is thus emphasized.

Ce livre met en lumière les œuvres de la Verrerie artistique de Saint-Prex réalisées entre 1930 et 1964, aujourd'hui conservées dans les collections publiques suisses. Sur la base de l'analyse de sources récemment accessibles, d'entretiens avec d'ancien·enne·s collaborateur·trice·s ou leurs descendant·e·s et de l'étude des aspects techniques, stylistiques et formels des œuvres, cet ouvrage présente pour la première fois une chronologie détaillée de la production. La réception de l'art verrier international et de la céramique suisse contemporaine est en outre apparente à Saint-Prex.
