Justin J. White schlägt vor, die Beziehung zwischen Bild und Text im alten Israel neu zu konzeptualisieren und beide Medien als gemischte Medien zu charakterisieren. Er argumentiert, dass Texte Bilder als Kernbestandteil ihrer Rhetorik hervorriefen - was er als "Poetik der Visualität" bezeichnet.
