The region of Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) has been undergoing crucial changes in its transition from centrally planned to market oriented economy. As a result, the business climate in the region is changing rapidly, allowing free access to foreign businesses to establish or acquire production facilities there. These processes result in intensive penetration of companies through foreign direct investment into the CEE region. Simultaneously, the foreign investing companies face the specific context of a region that poses new requirements to their investment strategies, approaches, and practices.
