Full Description
Joseph Schmidt, perhaps the most famous European tenor of the first half of the twentieth century, has been on the run from the Nazi invasion for several years. From Berlin, where his star shone, he, as a Jew, had to move to Vienna, and from there - to France. Then the path lies further, to neutral and seemingly safe Switzerland.
