Uhde photographs the world in a vertical plan from a helicopter, and his enthralling repertoire of motifs is inspired by the cultural landscape designed by man. He sees and captures beauty in coal tips, ore dumps and spoil piles, and his images gleam with a fascinating beauty against black backgrounds.
