Art History and Models (KunstModell), a cooperative research project of Wismar and Kiel Universities, Roemer- and Pelizaeus-Museum Hildesheim and Museum August Kester in Hannover, Germany, organized a conference together with Luxor University, Faculties of Archaeology and Tourism, who have a long standing tradition of cooperation with Wismar University. International scientists, among them Rune Nyord (Atlanta), Emily Teeter (Chicago), Robert Stephen Bianchi (Florida) and Maya Müller (Basel) were invited to share their research on model objects and discuss it with Egyptian and German Egyptologists, Art Historians, Computer Scientists, Designers and Architects.

Susanne Deicher studierte Kunstgeschichte, Literaturwissenschaften und Ägyptologie in Göttingen und an der Freien Universität Berlin, Promotion über Piet Mondrian. Sie lehrt seit 1997 Kunstgeschichte an der Hochschule Wismar. Seit 2006 Leitung von interdisziplinären Forschungsprojekten zur altägyptischen Künstlerschaft sowie zu Listen und Modellen im Alten Ägypten, u.a. gemeinsam mit der Luxor University, der TU Delft und den Universitäten in Groningen und in Kiel sowie mit den Museen in Hannover und Hildesheim.Susanne Deicher studied Art history, Literary sciences and Egyptology in Göttingen and in Berlin, doctoral thesis on Piet Mondrian. She is teaching Art history at Wismar University. Since 2012 she has been conducting interdisciplinary research projects on the Ancient Egyptian artist, on lists and on models in Ancient Egypt, together with Luxor, Delft, Groningen and Kiel Universities and the Egyptian Museums in Hannover and in Hildesheim.Heike Wilde studierte Ägyptologie, Ur- und Frühgeschichte und Ethnologie in Göttingen; Promotion über Prestigegüter im Alten Ägypten, tätig an der Universität Heidelberg und an der Tschechischen Akademie der Wissenschaften Prag. Mitarbeit in interdisziplinären Forschungsprojekten, ferner Leitung von Ausgrabungen. Zur Zeit arbeitet sie über die rituelle Bedeutung des Duftes im Alten Ägypten und schreibt an einer Monographie über die sogenannten 'Ersatzköpfe'. die auf den Residenzfriedhöfen des Alten Reiches in Giza gefunden wurden.Heike Wilde studied Egyptology, Prehistory and Anthropology in Göttingen; doctoral thesis on prestige goods in Ancient Egypt, active at the University of Heidelberg and at the Czech Academy of Sciences Prague. Participation in interdisciplinary research projects; field director of excavations. She is currently working on the ritual use of fragrance in Ancient Egypt and is writing a monograph on the so-called 'reserve heads' found in Old Kingdom mastabas in the Giza Necropolis.Maria Keil studierte Design, Archäologie und Kulturwissenschaften in Wismar und Berlin. Promotion über 'Das Krankenbett'. Mitarbeit an Forschungsprojekten in den Bereichen Medizin- und Technikgeschichte der Antike, Bild- und Objekttheorie an der Berliner Humboldt-Universität und an den Universitäten in Würzburg und in Wismar, ferner tätig als Ausstellungsdesignerin und Kuratorin für medizin- und technikgeschichtliche Sammlungen.Maria Keil studied Design, Archaeology and Cultural Sciences in Wismar and in Berlin. Doctoral thesis on the history of bedside patient care. Participation in history-of-medicine and object theory research projects at Berlin Humboldt University and at the Universities of Würzburg and Wismar; exhibition design and exhibition curating for natural sciences museums.
