The Ladin People - discover their unique cultural and linguistic heritage.
Ladinia lies in the heart of the Dolomites, surrounding the imposing Sella Massif. Ladin,a Rhaeto-Romance language, has survived there in five Valleys: Gardena (Gherdeina), Badia (Val Badia), Fassa (Fascia), Livinallongo (Fodom) and Ampezzo (Anpezo). This book sheds light on the culture and Tradition of the Ladin People: their customs, crafts and the legends of the Kingdom of the Fanes and of the Pale Mountains. Sketches of well-known Ladins such as Giorgio Moroder, Luis Trenker and Gilbert Prousch of Gilbert & George fame are also included.

Moroder, Tobia
Tobia Moroder, Born in 1982, lives in Ortisei in the Gardena Valley. He studied Archaeology in Bologna and has worked with the Museum Ladin Ciastel de Tor, the Istitut Ladin Micurà de Rü and other Ladin institutions. He is currently Mayor of Ortisei.
