Full Description

"Education" is one of the central communication symbols in our society. But what does "education" actually mean and to what extent can the reading of biblical texts provide impulses for general understanding about "education"? Scientists of various origins (from the "Classical" exegesis to social sciences). The focus in many contributions is on an understanding of "education" as a specific way of dealing with the biblical tradition. Behind this is the figure formulated in many biblical texts that texts aim at the acquisition of a message on the part of the learners. Translated, the biblical texts then refer to an understanding of people as learners, whereby learning is to be understood as critical self-reflection on relationship to God, relationship to the world, relationship to self. The relevance of the biblical texts proves itself in the fact that they can be translated into learning as a guide for one's own life. The fact that the biblical texts as a whole offer different, plural orientation patterns for one's own learning is and remains a great strength of the ambiguity, as long as it is kept in mind that it is always about a limited and focused diversity, but by no means an author-religious randomness anything goes ". In addition to this definition of" education "as the existential core of Bible reception, the traditional idea that biblical texts have a special educational content in the sense of an object is also examined. The focus is then on the connection and difference between biblical texts and Classical Greek ideas of the pa? De? A. In all these perspectives, a biblical-theological contribution to the general understanding about "education" can be seen.
