The Cultural and Racial Primordial Images and Symbols in Eugene O'Neill's 'The Emperor Jones' and 'The Hairy Ape' will explore Postmodernist ideas. The ideas are race, class system, poverty, alienation, culture, absurdist of the modern man. According to Jacques Lacan, 'unconscious is structured like a language' likewise 'The Hairy Ape', in which Yank's body has been, used in the play to express symbols as well as cultural primordial images, which can be expressed through racial consciousness on the account of the ape's body, stokehole, industrial workers of the world and gorilla's gage. Part of the unconscious mind is shared by a society, people, and all human beings, which is the central product of human experience.
