Nowadays a firm`s management is facing new and more complex challenges due to the process of globalisation with all its facets. The pressure because of an increased competition requires an efficient use of all input factors including financial resources in order to succeed within such a new business world. This book should provide an insight for non-financial executives in basic financial philosophies and a common understanding of those, in order to contribute to a better decision-making process due to a reduced departmental myopia. Furthermore it identifies variables which have an impact on value creation in order to create the bridge between financial management and other management functions and to unfold the potential of a firm. Focused on concepts, not on detailed expertise financial knowledge, it should create awareness for related variables of value creation and the importance of an overall value-based management concept.
