Chapter 15: Future Directions and Challenges in Technical and Smart Textiles Dr. Nagender Singh is an Assistant Professor in the Fashion and Apparel Engineering Department at The Technological Institute of Textile and Sciences in Bhiwani, Haryana, India. He completed his Ph.D. in Textile Chemistry from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IITD), focusing on the functionalization of textiles using microencapsulated materials. Dr. Singh has a rich history of working in the higher education industry, demonstrating expertise in microencapsulation technology, functional textile finishes, sustainable dyeing, textile recycling, smart textiles, and sustainable textile practices.
Dr. Amit Madhu is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Textile Chemistry at The Technological Institute of Textile & Sciences, Bhiwani. He obtained his Ph.D. in Textile Chemistry from Dr. B. R. Ambedkar National Institute of Technology, Jalandhar. With over 12 years of academic experience, Dr. Madhu specializes in sustainable and environment-friendly alternatives for textile chemical processing. His primary research interests include the application of enzymes in textile processing, sustainable dyeing techniques, and treating biological dye effluents using immobilized enzymes.
Dr. Javed Nabibaksha Sheikh is an Associate Professor in the Department of Textile and Fibre Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology (I.I.T.) Delhi. He has completed his B.Tech., M.Tech. and Ph.D. (Tech.) in Fibres and Textile Processing Technology from I.C.T. (Earlier known as U.D.C.T.), Mumbai. He is a Fellow of the Society of Dyers and Colourists (U.K.). He has worked with various textiles and chemical industries like Auro Textiles, Pidilite and Rossari Biotech Limited.
