The present study of the syntax of Moroccan Arabic and Standard Arabic is conducted within a particular implementation of the Minimalist Program in which the structure of the clause is built in three distinct but interrelated domains of sorts, each feeding a relatively independent interface to the interpretive systems of the human mind. This study assumes that syntactic computation accesses thematic and argument properties at the -domain, grammatical properties at the -domain, and discourse as well as pragmatic properties at the -domain. The output of eah of these domains is read off by the outer cognitive systems respectively at the three interface levels: Thematic Form (TF), Grammatical Form (GF) and Discourse Form (DF), and is finally subject to Full Interpretation. This particular architecture of the grammar is shown in the present work to have the welcome advantage of making possible a redefinition of a number of externally stipulated filters or constraints on derivations asBare Output Conditions that hold exclusively at interface levels.
