Tempus (Trans European Mobility Programme for University Studies) is a European Union's Programme which supports the reformation and modernisation of higher education in partner countries in Eastern Europe, Central Asia, the Western Balkans and the Mediterranean region. This process is mainly implemented through university cooperation.
Within this Programme the Tempus project Postgraduate Study in Public Health Sciences was initiated in 2005 at the Belgrade University School of Medicine Centre-School of Public Health, Serbia.
The authors of this publication clearly describe the way how the programme has been developed, implemented and how it shall be continued. They intensively illustrate their experiences, impressions and personal views, and reflect the work of the project period.
In conclusion, the book Public Health Policy and Management
Competences, Education and Training in Serbia contains highly important insights into the successful Postgraduate Programme, combined with lively impressions and experiences.

Prof. Dr. med. Dr. med. dent. Wihelm Kirch, Direktor des Instituts für Klinische Pharmakologie an der Medizinischen Fakultät der Technischen Universität Dresden, ist seit 2005 Vorsitzender der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Klinische Pharmakologie und Therapie (DGKliPha), Vorsitzender des Deutschen Verbandes für Gesundheitswissenschaften und Public Health (DVGPH). Seit 2009 ist Prof. Kirch Präsident der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Experimentelle und Klinische Pharmakologie und Toxikologie e.V. (DGPT).
