Description

Chronoi: Time, Time Awareness, Time Management is a book series that presents the work of the Einstein Center Chronoi. The center is dedicated to the investigation of time and time-related subjects such as time awareness, time management, time perception, and temporality from interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary perspectives.

Only a few secular table objects from late medieval France and Burgundy have been preserved. Courtly inventories reveal that their original riches and the visual themes they presented were multifaceted and highly topical. Drinking vessels, table fountains, and salt cellars often served their owners as stores of value that were reworked, modernized, or even melted down as financial resources when the need arose.

Cornelia Logemann, Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München, Munich, Germany.
