Im ersten Faszikel des von Marco Buonocore herausgebenen Supplements zu CIL IX erfolgt die kritische Edition und bildliche Dokumentation von über 550 neu gefundenen lateinischen Inschriften der Regio Italiae quarta (Gebiet der Samniten und Frentaner). Es schließen ausführliche Addenda und Corrigenda zu rund 850 bereits im 19. Jahrhundert bekannten und 1883 von Theodor Mommsen edierten Inschriften an, nun erstmals ebenfalls in Gegenüberstellung mit entsprechenden Fotos. Dieser und vier folgende Faszikel, die unter anderem eine detaillierte Karte sowie Indizes zum gesamten Supplement enthalten werden, stellen die vollständige, modernen Editionsprinzipien folgende kritische Dokumentation der lateinischen Inschriften der römischen Regio quarta dar, die Frucht aus drei Jahrzehnten Forschungstätigkeit von Marco Buonocore.

In the first fascicle of the Supplement to CIL IX, along with detailed addenda to approx. 850 inscriptions previously edited by Theodor Mommsen in 1883, Marco Buonocore documents 550 newly discovered Latin inscriptions of the Regio Italiae quarta (Samnites and Frentani). With photographs included for the first time, the volume on the inscriptions of the Italian Regio IV will comprise four additional supplements.
