Arguments et références en linguistique française is a handbook series on French linguistics, designed to comprise about ten volumes altogether. Containing contributions by leading experts in the field, the handbooks each provide a comprehensive overview of the current state of research in specific subfields of French linguistics, such as syntax, morphology, semantics, text linguistics, corpus linguistics and linguistic terminology.
This handbook, bringing together about twenty contributions by leading specialists in linguistics, aims to present an overview of the terminology and metalanguage of French linguistics. It discusses the historical development of French linguistic terminology as well as various different terminological and metalinguistic problems pertaining to French linguistic research.
