Note Note Éditions présente Note Note Collection, un projet éditorial singulier réalisé en collaboration avec la journaliste Sophie Pinet. Entre fanzine et livre, Note Note Collection présente en images les "obsessions" récurrentes qui nourrissent le travail des photographes contemporains.
Pig, montre un autre aspect, plus intime et sensible, du travail de Feng Li. Le photographe a accepté de partager des images de sa famille élargie qui, à une époque, comprenait trois chats, un perroquet et, bien sûr, un cochon avec lequel il a développé une relation étroite. Après avoir sauvé le cochon d'une mort certaine alors qu'il avait été abandonné par un précédent propriétaire, le photographe et sa femme ont décidé de l'adopter.
Pig est une invitation à partager leur quotidien à travers le regard de Feng Li, un regard tendre et caustique à la fois.
Après avoir travaillé comme fonctionnaire pour le gouvernement chinois, Feng Li (né en 1971, vit et travaille à Chengdu, Chine) s'initie en autodidacte à la photographie. C'est en 1999 qu'il commence sa carrière artistique, plusieurs années après avoir regardé Sur la route de Madison de Clint Eastwood et être tombé en fascination pour le personnage de Robert Kincaid, un reporter qui travaille pour le National Geographic.
Aujourd'hui, Feng Li est aussi bien reconnu pour ses photographies du quotidien, dont il révèle le caractère souvent absurde et grotesque, que pour ses photographies de mode. Néanmoins, son œuvre se caractérise par son éclectisme et comprend aussi bien des photographies de villes (Paris, Berlin et Chengdu) que des paysages silencieux, des scènes urbaines saturées de couleurs vives que des images contemplatives réalisées en noir et blanc.

Note Note Éditions presents Note Note Collection, a singular editorial project created in collaboration with journalist Sophie Pinet. Note Note Collection positioned between fanzine and book presents in images the recurring "obsessions" that inform the work of contemporary photographers. With each issue, a photographer is invited to use these pages as a forum for exploring a favorite theme or feature a person or thing that is meaningful for him or her, in a way that is funny and absurd or weighty and serious. Pig, shows another, more intimate and sensitive aspect of Feng Li's work. The photographer has agreed to share images of his expanded family which at one time included three cats, a parrot and, obviously, a pig with whom he developed a close relationship. After rescuing the pig from certain death when it was abandoned by a previous owner, the photographer and his wife decided to adopt it.
Pig is an invitation to share their daily life through Feng Li's eyes, and the view is tender and caustic in equal measure. In a 2017 interview with web magazine DoorZine, Feng Li dismissed suggestions that he considered the animals he lived with to be pets, insisting that it was he who was their pet, and a rather spoiled one at that, who truly appreciated the time they spent together. Asked in a November 19, 2020, interview with Marguo Gallery if he had a favorite model to work with, he said: No, I just capture the moments of life. But if I had to say a favorite model, it would have to be my pig. This is the pig I picked.
