Full Description
After inheriting a dilapidated cottage, Miss Adeline Foster, daughter of the late Earl of Foster, moves to the country with plans to fix the place up and use her talent as a healer to help local villagers. She has no intention of marrying - ever - but her plans go awry when her pernicious half-brother announces he's marrying her off to a blackguard to pay a debt.
Not on Adeline's watch. Or, apparently, her neighbour's.
The Duke of Warwick moved to the country to escape the overeager debutantes after his title and work on his latest invention in peace. Instead, he's kept up all hours by his new neighbour's hounds and accosted in his own home by a giant, overly affectionate pig. The beautiful Miss Foster is as infuriating as her collection of stray animals, but when Daniel finds her arguing with her brother, his protective instincts flare - as does a plan that may solve both their problems.
He'll court her. At least, he'll make everyone think he is.
To pull it off, Adeline and Daniel just need to make it through a handful of required Society appearances without killing - or kissing - each other, a task that turns out to be a much harder than expected...
