Occupational Exposure to Manufactured Nanomaterials in the Construction Industry: Strategy and Guidelines provides practical guidelines for the safe use of manufactured nanomaterials (MNMs) in construction. Although the use of MNMs -particularly in construction- is increasing, there is little information available on the toxicity and biodistribution of MNMs or their potential to induce adverse reactions to human health. This book, based on the findings of the EU-wide SCAFFOLD project, offers valuable information on the development of MNMs used in the construction industry, how to manage usage of MNMs when the materials' hazard data is insufficient, and official guidelines from different global regions. The book uses an integrated approach to managing occupational exposure to MNMs, with the inclusion of multi-stakeholder views, case studies covering the main steps of MNMs' lifecycles, practical methods and strategies for safe working.
