Description
Daniel Kidane's Songs of Illumination is a seamless setting of three William Blake poems told from the viewpoint of the vulnerable-children, tiny insects, and the marginalised. Moving from the piano's initial growls and rumbles to the celestial tent of God, the cycle traces journeys through dreams and visions that offer compassion, refuge, and a longing for a colour-blind utopia. Voice and piano, often separated, ultimately meet in the same musical world, echoing the work's yearning for unity and equality.Instrumentation:tenor and piano 1. A Dream - 2. The Land of Dreams - 3.
