Der Name Oskar Rieding taucht zwar selten in den Konzertprogrammen auf, dafür ist er Geigenschülern umso geläufiger. Denn bis heute behaupten seine zu Beginn des 20. Jahrhunderts eigens für Anfänger auf dem Instrument entstandenen kleinen Konzertstücke für Violine und Klavier ihren Platz im Unterricht und beim Klassenvorspiel. Das h-moll-Konzert op. 35 ist mit seiner Beschränkung auf die 1. Lage ein echtes Einsteiger-Modell. Für die auf der Erstausgabe basierende Urtextausgabe erhielt Herausgeberin Annette Oppermann tatkräftige Unterstützung: Die slowenische Rieding-Spezialistin Marusa Zupancic steuert ein interessantes Vorwort über den wenig bekannten Komponisten bei.

The name Oskar Rieding may seldom appear in concert programmes, but for students of the violin it is all the more familiar. To this day, his short concert pieces for violin and piano, written at the start of the twentieth century especially for beginners on the instrument, have maintained their place in lessons and class recitals. Restricted to the first position, the b-minor Concerto, op. 35, is ideal for beginners. For this Urtext edition, based on the first printing, editor Annette Oppermann received talented support; the Slovenian Rieding specialist Marusa Zupancic contributes an interesting preface on the little-known composer.

Violin Concerto b minor op. 35
Le nom d'Oskar Rieding se rencontre rarement dans les programmes de concerts, mais il est en revanche d'autant plus courant auprès des élèves de violon. Car aujourd'hui encore, ses petites pièces de concert pour violon et piano, élaborées en fait pour des débutants dans les premières années du XXe siècle, tiennent toujours leur place dans le programme d'enseignement et dans les auditions de classes. Le concerto en si mineur op. 35 est, avec sa limitation à la première position, un vrai modèle pour débutants. En ce qui concerne l'édition Urtext, fondée sur la première édition, l'éditrice Annette Oppermann a reçu un important soutien: la spécialiste slovène de Rieding, Marusa Zupancic, propose une préface intéressante sur ce compositeur peu connu.
