This book, Einstein's Dice: A Conceptual Introduction to Quantum Physics, is intended for anyone with an interest in the tantalising and often confusing subject of quantum physics, ranging from readers with a casual curiosity about popular science to college physics majors seeking a conceptual discussion of quantum theory beyond their traditional, more mathematically focused education. The text grew out of a general education course for non-scientists at the University of Massachusetts, where it has been refined and developed over many years. It aims to provide a complete, stand-alone overview of the foundations of quantum mechanics, adopting a pedagogical rather than mathematical or strictly historical approach. In doing so, it draws on modern quantum experiments, contemporary technologies, and recent theoretical advances to illuminate the core principles of the theory and foster an intuitive understanding of quantum phenomena.
