This book highlights the concepts of radiation dosimetry, radiobiology and radiation protection in medical imaging clinical practice. The first module introduces the concepts of radiation dosimetry and dose measurements in clinical practice including dose monitoring for radiation protection. The second module considers the biological bases for radiation protection and radiotherapy. Finally, the third module covers fundamental principles and practice of radiation protection including legal and regulatory frameworks at local and international levels, and radiation protection in practical medical procedures.

Chapter 1. Topics include quantities and units in dosimetry, radiation interaction with matter, radiation detection and measurements, external and internal dosimetry, and operational dosimetry.- Chapter 2. Topics include stochastic vs deterministic responses, radiobiology at molecular, cellular and organ levels, biological bases for radiation protection and radiotherapy. Chapter 3. Topics include fundamental principles of radiation protection, justification, optimization and dose limits/reference levels of medical procedures, radiation facility designs and radiation protection in medical applications.
