From the perspective of comprehensive analysis and understanding of Prof. Zheng Hangsheng's sociological theories and notions, this book tries to explore his academic career to become a pioneer, advocate, forerunner and propellent of Theoretical Consciousness (TC) and evaluate scientifically the theoretical value and methodological significance of his thoughts on TC, involving four different dimensions: current situation review and keen perception, disciplinary mission and discourse transformation, knowledge production and practice, topicality and application expansion. so as to deeply grasp the ideological essence of theoretical consciousness and highlight Zheng's important role in the restoration and reconstruction of Chinese sociology.
