The impact of physical activity and urban living in childhood are stretched into adulthood - this saying is almost commonsensical, but seems to lack unambiguous research evidence. ""Physical Health and Activity of Hong Kong Youth"" attempts to fill the gap and provide solid research constructs. The statement emerged from this anthology reflects a view that is at once universal and distinctive. First, the statement may be unique because health beahviours are examined against the unique cultural and psychological background of Chinese society. Second, the statement reflects the common concern that the Hong Kong community shares with the global community over the future health of the population by paying particular attention to the state of its youth.
