There is plenty to do in the hinterlands of Tampere, Orivesi and Kangasala by hiking, skiing, cycling and paddling. Hikers in the region and the services they need are well taken care of: The Kintulammi camping area was opened for use in the spring of 2018. The Kaarinanpolku was renovated in the summer of 2018 to make it even bolder. The structures of the Pukala recreation forest have also been completely renovated. There are enough tracks in a good winter from Kaup to Kangasa. In summer, the same routes are attractive for mountain biking. The best kayaking routes can be found in Näsijärvi's sheltered fjord-like bays and Kangasala's Vesijärvi. Pukala and its northern little lakes offer the most wilderness experiences in the region. The lakes in Ylängö wave at a height of up to 169 meters, so they freeze early in early winter for the pleasure of excursion skaters.
