The author wants to invite you to have well-tried, happy and meaningful experiences in the forest. Every forest trip has its own special features, which depend on the location, the time of year, the weather and the people taking part. Some may call the program childish, but this is precisely how we lose some of our top-heaviness and touch our hearts with such connections to nature: for many, the tree sawn with a hacksaw has a more lasting effect than the theoretical analysis of all native tree species in the forests. There are countless other possibilities for forest education, such as forest kindergartens, forest work with teenagers, activities with families, with managers and people with special needs. Special areas such as water, forest work, hunting, meditation, cooking in the forest or the forest of the future can also be explored in depth in forest education alongside the general exploration of the forest shown in the book. Das Leben von Albert Botka ruht auf drei Säulen: Die eine ist seine Familie, seine zweite Säule ist der Wald in seiner unfassbaren Vielfalt und die dritte und für ihn wichtigste Säule ist die liebevolle Lebenskraft, die ihn auf einem guten Weg führt. Für Albert ist das unser Gott. 38 Jahre arbeitete er als Förster an einer forstlichen Ausbildungsstätte in Österreich, drei Jahre davon in tropischen Regenwäldern. Von 1994 bis zu seiner Pensionierung 2011 war er gemeinsam mit seinem Försterkollegen und Freund Fritz Wolf (waldschulealmtal) für den Bereich der Waldpädagogik zuständig. Die beiden leiteten Kurse in ganz Österreich, arbeiteten in EUProjekten und übernahmen nach der Gründung des Vereins "Waldpädagogik in Österreich" im Jahr 2001 (www.waldpaedagogik.at) für sieben Jahre die Geschäftsführung. Albert ist Familienvater mit vier erwachsenen Kindern und drei Enkelkindern und hat, so wie sein Kollege Wolf, unzählige Waldausgänge für alle denkbaren Gruppen durchgeführt.
