Ein gewidmetes Erscheinenlassen von Räumen an Orten ist Aufgabe der Architektur. Alle anderen Bestimmungen - wie die zuvor genannten inneren und äußeren - sind auf dieses Ziel ausgerichtet: Wir bauen der Räume wegen. Es sind daher architektonische Räume, die wir wohnend in Gebrauch nehmen. Und was für das Haus gilt, das gilt doch auch in gleicher Weise für die Stadt: Das gewidmete Erscheinenlassen von Räumen an Orten ist Aufgabe auch des Städtebaus!Dem Einwand einerseits, diese Ideographie sei doch allzu optimistisch, können wir nur idealistisch begegnen, und dem Einwand andererseits, diese Typologie sei doch allzu pessimistisch, können wir nur realistisch begegnen: aber gerade diese Ambivalenz zwischen Phantasie und Vernunft ist Idee, Programm und Konzept von Stella. The task of architectures is to facilitate the emergence of dedicated spaces in places. All other definitions - including the aforementioned definitions of inner and outer - aim toward this goal: we build for the sake of spaces.
