Internationalization journeysWe will outline in this book that internationalization represents a much desired corporate endeavor, yet also one that is not yet fully mastered. Performance suffers at various stages in the internationalization journey, contingent upon the country of origin, the chosen path and the skills companies built up in order to master the adversity. A key variable to understand better in internationalization journeys is organizational culture, a construct which has been fascinating researchers and practitioners for a long time. The study presented in this book does not understand organizational culture as a fatalistic construct. Cultures can be formed to some extent and this book outlines the adaptations needed at different stages of internationalization journeys of German versus US companies.Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Amann has been designing and delivering executive education seminars for more than 18 years.
