This volume of IBS Scientific Workshop Proceedings collects research workfrom the international IBS Workshop on Learner Centered Learning (LCL).This workshop was organized in frame of DrIVE-MATH - Development ofInnovative Mathematical Teaching Strategies in European EngineeringDegrees project where cooperating universities from Germany, Portugal,France and Slovakia. One key goal of this project is to implement new teachingmethods in engineering science and apply different kind of active learningmethods in universities. Therefore, main aim of this first workshop was to callresearchers, professors and educators from the world to discuss highlightedproblems of modern higher education systems, especially active learningand new teaching methodologies in engineering sciences. Professors fromGermany, Mongolia, Philippines, China, India, Sri Lanka and Egypt joined tothe workshop and discussed three days actively around the LCL topic.
