Photographs from Saxony and LusatiaOne of the inherent characteristics of photography is its capability of capturing time and recording stories laid out before the camera. The volume "Im Moment. Fotografie aus Sachsen und der Lausitz" (For a Moment. Photographs from Saxony and Lusatia) brings together works by about 40 photographers, both renowned and less well-known ones. The focus is on photographs chronicling the epochal change that has taken place over the past five decades, reflecting the rapid change of society and its landscapes (and cityscapes), as well as individual and collective experiences of transformation. Each of the photographers combines a general interest in narrative motifs and stylistic devices with contents spanning documentary positions, portraits, and staged photography.
