Die Infrastruktur des öffentlichen Gesundheitswesens wird sich angesichts enormer künftiger Herausforderungen grundlegend verändern müssen, um weiterhin nachhaltige und gerechte Versorgung zu gewährleisten. Die Digitalisierung revolutioniert Medizin und Bauwesen. Der Weg des Patienten durch die Gesundheitslandschaft wandelt sich von konsumierend zu interaktiv, von unstetig zu kontinuierlich. Ambulantisierung und Dezentralisierung von Versorgungseinrichtungen werden die Folge sein. Gleichzeitig stehen uns enorme gesellschaftliche Herausforderungen wie demografischer Wandel, Personalknappheit und Klimawandel bevor.Welche Konsequenzen wird das für das Krankenhaus der Zukunft haben? Wird es das Allgemeinkrankenhaus, wie wir es kennen, weiterhin geben? Wie machen wir die Bestandsbauten zukunftsfit? Muss das Krankenhaus der Zukunft mobil, modular und flexibel sein? Und wie werden Nutzer/Patienten diese neuen effizienten Bauten erleben?Das achte Symposium "Health Care der Zukunft", dessen Vorträge in diesem Band zusammengefasst sind, stellt Konzepte und Hintergründe dar und diskutiert diese mit Planern sowie Experten des Gesundheitswesens. Dabei blicken wir in unsere europäischen Nachbarländer, entdecken unterschiedliche Lösungsansätze und erfolgreiche Projekte mit dem gemeinsamen Ziel, Krankenhäuser neu zu denken.In view of the enormous challenges ahead, the public healthcare infrastructure will have to change fundamentally to maintain sustainable, fair services. Digitisation is revolutionising the fields of medicine and building. A patient's path through the healthcare landscape is changing from a consuming to an interactive process, becoming continuous rather than irregular. The result will be an increase in outpatient and decentralised services provided by healthcare facilities. At the same time, we face enormous social challenges such as demographic change, personnel shortages, and the climate crisis.What consequences will this have for hospitals in the future? Will there still be the general hospitals we know today? How do we make existing buildings fit for the future? Do future hospitals need to be mobile, modular, and flexible? And how will users/patients experience these new, efficient buildings?This volume compiles the lectures held at the 8th "Health Care of the Future" symposium, presenting concepts, background information, and discussion with planners and healthcare experts. In doing so, the publication also investigates approaches adopted by our European neighbours, discovering contrasting solutions and successful projects that engage with the common goal of rethinking hospitals.
