Project Manager is a textbook and reference work. It is an advanced training tool that enables project management professionals to prepare for the higher levels of certification in accordance with GPM German Association for Project Management and IPMA International Project Management Association requirements.

Roland Ottmann hat Maschinenbau, Betriebswirtschaft und Management studiert und u.a. die Grade Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Henley on Thames (UK) und Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Lille/Paris (Frankreich) erlangt. Seit 1985 arbeitete er als Projektleiter, Berater, Coach und Trainer im Projektmanagement. Seit 1993 ist er zertifizierter Projektmanagement-Trainer und seit 1995 zertifizierter Senior Projektmanager. 1992 gründete Roland Ottmann die Ottmann & Partner GmbH Management Consulting. Er war von 1994 bis 1998 Vorstand des Fachverbands Projektmanagement im Bundesverband Deutscher Unternehmensberater, mehrere Jahre Repräsentant für Deutschland und Delegierter im Council of Delegates der IPMA International Project Management Association und Officer im Executive Board sowie Vice President der IPMA. Von 1996 bis 2002 war Roland Ottmann Vorstandsmitglied bei der GPM Deutsche Gesellschaft für Projektmanagement, von 2002 bis 2006 deren Vorstandsvorsitzender. Er war Initiator und Projektleiter des Deutschen und des Internationalen Award und des Bewertungsmodells Project Excellence, Trainer für Award-Assessoren und von 1997 bis 2006 Mitglied der Award Jury. Seit 2012 ist er Vorsitzender des Fachbeirats der IAPM International Association of Project Managers.
