Description

(Text)

"In The Widdle Wat of Time" is a collection of poems and very short stories by Michael Lederer. Poems include sonnets, haiku, erotic and prose poetry, lyrics, children's poetry...the common theme being that a poet like all people has many sides. Mature, child-like, hopeful, cynical, sincere, ironic, political, up-to-his-ears and over-his-head in politics, groping for answers amid the questions. Die Welt has called Lederer "a true archeologist among the great American writers."
(Extract)
From "In The Widdle Wat Of Time":Far from the F-22s being deployed now to EuropeFar from the prison cell where the one who spoke is silencedFar from the bombs and bulletsFar from the bodies being washed upon the shoreFar from the old who have seen it all beforeFar from the young who will never grow oldFar from those who profit by itFar from all of thatI watch my apples growSome mornings I can even smell them from the windowI tried not to fallBut there was nothing to hold ontoBut the fallingRoses are blue, violets are redLSD taught me it's all in my headGod bless America...and everywhere elseShooting stars and fireflies darting through the airThe earthworms must be wondering what's going on up thereWhile from the sky the earth below might look to some as flatThough worms and ants and rabbits know it's anything but thatThe world is yours now, do with it as you willUntil that night when all again is still
