Indeed the most important contribution of the texts presented by Rui Estrada, in my opinion, is to point out the need to understand that each human being is rational, on the one hand, but that this doesn't prevent them from being cruel, on the other hand. It depends on the context. But does it only depend on the context? Like Arendt, Rui Estrada is not convinced that evil is always in the hands of diabolic personalities. Being in specific situations may lead us to ask the final and decisive question: 'If I were in a situation where I had to choose between sparing someone who could represent a real threat to my community and protecting this community, what would I do?' And that question is very frightening.
