After three years as a consultant in the reconstruction of the East for a company of Deutsche Treuhand, he returned to teaching as a freelancer. Since 2000 he has held a permanent teaching position at the North Hesse University of Applied Sciences and at the Clausthal-Zellerfeld Mining Academy; he also has various guest teaching positions, including in business mathematics and statistics.
