Guillermo Kuitca in SomersetIm Juni 2013 hat der argentinische Künstler Guillermo Kuitca (1961 in Buenos Aires) während eines Arbeitsaufenthaltes bei Hauser & Wirth in Somerst eine komplette Wandmalerei für das Speisezimmer des Wohnhauses geschaffen. Mit dieser Wandarbeit präsentierte Kuitca erstmals in seinem Werk eine Raumausmalung, die den Betrachter komplett umfängt, was konsequenterweise eine Veränderung in seiner künstlerischen Praxis auslöste. Die in der Folge entstandenen neuen Arbeiten bilden den Fokus dieses Buches, das faszinierende Einblicke in die Bewandtnisse des häuslichen Raumes und der Architektur bereithält. Gemeinsam mit Hauser & Wirth veröffentlicht, enthält der Band einen Text von Michael C. FitzGerald, Professor für bildende Kunst am Trinity College, Hartford. Guillermo Kuitca at SomersetDuring a residency at Hauser & Wirth Somerset June 2013, Argentinean artist Guillermo Kuitca (1961 in Buenos Aires) created an immersive wall painting in the dining room of the residential house. This mural represents the first time Kuitca painted an entire space, completely surrounding the viewer, which subsequently trig-gered a shift in his artistic practice. The resulting new body forms the focus of this publication, which offers fascinating insights into matters of domestic space and architecture. Co-published with Hauser & Wirth, the book features a contribution by Michael C. FitzGerald, professor of fine arts at Trinity College, Hartford. He has written extensively on Picasso and his legacy in contemporary art, and published several catalogues accompanying exhibitions, among others at the Museu Picasso, Barcelona; the Whitney Museum of American Art; and the Wadsworth Atheneum.Exhibition:Hauser & Wirth Savile Row, 27/5-30/7/2016

Avec ce travail, Kuitca peint pour la première fois un espace qui étreint entièrement l'observateur, source d'un changement en conséquence de sa pratique artistique. Les nouvelles oeuvres créées à la suite sont au coeur du livre qui nous réserve des vues fascinantes de l'espace domestique et de l'architecture en soi. Publié conjointement avec Hauser & Wirth, il contient un texte de Michael C.
