Description
From a decidedly subjective point of view, Philip Ursprung shows connections between economy, architecture and art in his 14 essays. His unconventional intellectual paths stimulate critical reflection. They lead to partly novel, partly unexpected, but always surprising spaces of thought that make it possible to view phenomena in new, mutually dependent constellations. The book advocates a speculative historiography and calls for revising theoretical premises. For the English translation, the author revised and updated the 2017 German publication Der Wert der Oberfläche: Essays zu Architektur, Kunst und Ökonomie.
