Description
(Text)
This work aims to illustrate the pragmatic and discourse analysis of recitation of poems under the allied grammatical functions, phonetic representations, semiotic applications, semantic interpretations and psycholinguistic evaluation. Here in this thesis the word Recitation means the spoken presentation (performance) of a written speech or piece of poetry is used in oratory for communication. There are two different types of meaning to consider: semantico-referential meaning and indexical meaning. The components of the Peircean Trichotomy as 1.Icon, 2.Index and 3.Symbol have been used in this thesis to use signs to convey what we want to say. This general impression leaves a lot of questions unanswered. Firstly, the form of these observations has been, implicitly statistical. But speech acts cannot easily be counted. One sentence can perform more than one speech act, and one speech act(or, more precisely, the words by which it is performed ) can be embedded within another. This thesis aims to find out and analyze in contribution of a systematic exposition of Recitation through the evaluation of linguistic insight and psychological phenomena of the performers.
