Description

(Text)
If you support persons with special needs and disabilities in this world get this book to enlighten you to become a champion in that discipline. Rise up to build a better world where people with special needs can live meaningful life. The study sample (N=100), comprised: parents, teachers and education managers. A survey method, involving various instruments, such as: questionnaires, interview and observation guides, as well as analysis of documents were used to collect data. The major findings reveal that little was still done on the implementation of education for children with mental retardation in Uganda. Most education managers were still rigid. Inadequate resources still existed. It is hereby recommended that government should provide adequate and timely resources, if the implementation of the goal is to succeed in Uganda. Despite fact that the study was conducted in 1999, the problems identified at that time, still persist till the time of going to press in 2011. The findings contained in the book, therefore, are still very much up to date and helpful to guide education policy makers and implementers in the implementation of education for children with mental retardation.
