The book traces the history of sugarcane- wheat cropping system in South Asia and identifies the constraints limiting the yield of crops in the system. It also contains impact of Sugarcane - wheat cropping system in trans-upper and middle gangentic plains of Indo-Gangetic Plains (IGP) region. It provide wheat yield trends of last 15 years in 14 district of IGP region alongwith appropriate agro-technology for enhancing productivity of sugarcane-wheat system in the region.

Dr. R.L.Yadav is serving Director of Indian Institute of Sugarcane Research, Lucknow and President of Association of Sugarcane Technologist of India. He has published 7 books and more than 500 scientific articles.He is an agronomist by specilization. He is an agronomist by profession with specilization in soil health and crop nutrition.
