Over the last few years, there have been noted remarkable developments in diagnosis and imaging techniques in the field of ophthalmology making the impact on clinical practice. With this in mind has also come a rise in the need of written book, since very little academic literature exists on the issue. This book is designed as an introduction to clinical ophthalmology and in an effort to make it of maximal knowledgeable value as a ready reference several specific features were incorporated, including chapters covering each element of a thorough ophthalmic examination, organized in the order in which each element is usually performed, and reflecting cutting edge technologies for diagnosis and monitoring patients with different ocular problems. It is written for the widest possible audience: medical students, residents, the practicing ophthalmologist, the emergency room physician, the family practitioner, the internist, the pediatrician, the neurologist to help each interested professional to gain a sound understanding of ocular disease through comprehensive eye examination so that their patients may achieve a better quality of life.
