When prospective teachers are engaged in mathematical modeling, a third silent partner - the computer - always plays a role in the didactical contract. It is hard to argue against a solution which was delivered from a computer software. Many students accept and interpret quite useless results from a model which has been used wrongly or been selected by wrong assumptions. This book will give examples from three different but consecutive studies on how prospective teachers learn mathematics through mathematical modeling.
