The purpose of this book is to examine the influence of several factors in predicting the physiological and perceptual responses to prolonged immersion in cold water. A secondary purpose is to describe prediction equations that will assist in determining body temperature responses to cold water immersion. Cappaert, ThomasThomas A. Cappaert PhD, ATC has received degrees from the University of Charleston, Marshall University and the University of Toledo. Dr. Cappaert is currently an Associate Professor at Central Michigan University and has authored the National Athletic Trainers' Association Position Statement on Environmental Cold Injury.
