Description

(Text)
In the past fifty years, the Christian Church worldwide has experienced explosive growth, especially in the non-Western world. Unfortunately, traditional methods of leadership development have not been able to provide enough mature leaders to meet the demands of these rapidly growing congregations. Why have the traditional methods failed? What changes are required? Developing Leaders for the Two-Thirds World Church provides an in-depth study of the strengths and weaknesses of traditional church leadership development methods. These are evaluated in light of the timeless principles of Biblical leadership development and the unique contextual needs of the non-western churches. In contrast, an alternative model is presented that attempts to retain the strengths of the previous efforts and address contextual issues while reclaiming the local congregation as the central focus for Christian leadership development.
