Sein Saxophon-Sound und seine stilistische Bandbreite sind gefragt: So spielte er mit namhaften deutschen und internationalen Künstlern, wie Rolf Zuckowski, Barbara Dennerlein, Thomas Anders, Anne Haigis, Harald Juhnke, Pe Werner, Sara K., sowie mit Musikern von Jethro Tull, Jazzkantine oder der Mike Oldfield-Band. Neben zahlreichen Konzerten und Produktionen mit anderen Künstlern und Bands ist er auch immer wieder mit eigenen Programmen zu hören, ob solo, im Duo oder mit kompletter Band. Bei mehr als 100 CD- und LP-Produktionen hat er bis heute mitgewirkt und seine Tourneen haben ihn bis nach Los Angeles und Taiwan geführt.
Als Saxophonlehrer hat er an verschiedenen Musikschulen und als Gastdozent an der Bundesakademie Remscheid unterrichtet und kennt daher die Probleme der Einsteiger aus erster Hand.
Daneben ist Dirko Juchem Autor zahlreicher Lehrbücher und Saxophon-Spielhefte sowie Fachautor bei Musikermagazinen ('Sonic', 'Sound Check', 'Fachblatt Musikmagazin').
