Der Band untersucht ausgewählte Netzwerke, in welche das zwischen 1949 und 1969 bestehende Bundesvertriebenenministerium eingebunden war. Es interessieren dabei die Interaktionen des Ministeriums insbesondere mit Parlament, Parteien, Kirchen und Interessenorganisationen der Flüchtlinge und Vertriebenen der Bundesrepublik. The Federal Ministry for Expellees existed between 1949 and 1969. As highest federal authority, it helped to solve a central socio-political task that the Federal Republic of Germany was confronted with - the integration of millions of refugees and expellees. The ministry was involved in a number of networks. In terms of personnel and organization, they stretched back beyond the Nazi era to the 1920s. Five case studies examine the ministry's interactions with parliament, political parties, churches and organizations representing the interests of refugees and displaced persons. This makes it possible to reveal new aspects of the work and activities of this special ministry in a classic guise. Mathias Beer ist Zeithistoriker mit dem Schwerpunkt Migrationsforschung, Forschungsbereichsleiter am Institut für donauschwäbische Geschichte und Landeskunde, lehrt an der Universität Tübingen und hat eine Gastprofessur an der Universität Sibiu/Hermannstadt in Rumänien inne.
