This book accompanies an exhibition at the Morgan Library & Museum in New York, 100 Master Drawingsfrom Munich, and includes full-colour illustrations of some of the most spectacular works. The works in this volume range from rough preparatory sketches to meticulously detailed studies, executed in a variety of media including silverpoint, chalk, ink and watercolour. Among the many extraordinary pieces are Old Dutch and German prints, 19th-century German drawings and works by Du rer and Rembrandt.There are also reproductions of the many compelling works of contemporary graphic art for which the museum is best known.
