Description
Good Evening, Europe! The Eurovision Song Contest has been attracting millions of fans to their TV screens every year since 1956. The world's biggest music competition invites the participating countries to go up against one another whilst indulging in its motto of "United By Music." Flashy outfits, glitter, wind machines, unique performances, global careers and unforgettable moments are all part of the show. The ESC puts culture, stories and great voices in the spotlight. This cookbook takes popular and typical dishes from 35 nations and serves them all up on a plate. 70 years of the Eurovision Song Contest have also given rise to plenty of fun facts. Who came last most times? What were the most absurd lyrics? And which ESC entry secured victory even though no one was present at the venue to hear it? A culinary and musical journey through Europe which is as diverse, surprising and unifying as the Eurovision Song Contest itself. Manuela Tiefnig, is an entertainment and culture editor who is a long-standing board member of OGAE, Austria's official Eurovision Song Contest Fan Club. In her capacity as an ESC expert, she has witnessed numerous shows live. She has enjoyed the musical acts and unforgettable atmosphere in host cities such as Stockholm, Lisbon and Liverpool whilst also savouring the local cuisine and its delicacies.
