The book presents the results of the digital art conservation project that was conceived at the ZKM Center for Art and Media Karlsruhe in 2010. It includes text contributions by major theorists, restaurators, programmers and artists as well as case studies and series of picture material. It is designed to foster the international debate on the conservation of digital art. The volume features pieces by Edmond Couchot, Alain Depocas, JODI, Anne Laforet, Aymeric Mansoux, Jussi Parikka, Siegfried Zielinski, Peter Weibel and many others.

Dr. Bernhard Serexhe studierte Soziologie, Psychologie, Pädagogig und Kunstgeschichte. Seit 2006 Hauptkurator des Medienmuseums im ZKM Zentrum für Kunst und Medientechnologie Karlsruhe. Seit 2010 Initiator und Leiter des EU-Forschungsprogramms "digital art conservation".
